The window must be thoroughly cleaned and degreased. This can be done simply with warm water and a drop of dish soap. A thorough cleaning prevents dirt and dust particles from getting between the window and the film. Remove any blemishes from the glass with a window scraper.
Fill a spray bottle with water and add a little dish soap. First, thoroughly spray the window with the spray bottle; this will allow the film to shift during application.
Peel off about 10 centimeters of the backing (this can be paper or transparent foil) from the foil. This is easily done by placing a piece of tape on both the foil and the backing and then peeling it off. Also, thoroughly moisten the foil with a plant sprayer.
